Aysén Region stays on summer time

The Aysén Region in Chile stays on UTC -3, cancelling the transition to standard time which was scheduled for 6 April, 2025.

The decision was made on 20 March, 2025, following a recent poll where 94 % were in favor of permanent daylight saving time.

With this time zone change, Aysén joins Chile's Magallan region and Palmer Station in Antarctica, which have observed UTC -3 permanently since 2016. The rest of Chile alternates between UTC -4 in the winter and UTC -3 in the summer, except Easter Island which alternates between UTC -6 and UTC -5.
